Alice Rothchild is an obstetrician-gynecologist and author who has worked in the health care reform and womens movements for many years. Since 1997, she has focused much of her energy on understanding the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.Dr. Rothchild grew up in a conservative Jewish family in the Boston area and visited Israel a number of times as a young woman. She co-founded the American Jews for a Just Peace-Boston, and has organized annual health and human rights delegations to Israel and Palestine since 2003.Lecturing widely, and writing numerous articles, she has published two books Broken Promises, Broken Dreams: Stories of Jewish and Palestinian Trauma and Resilience (2007, 2010), and On the Brink: Israel and Palestine on the Eve of the 2014 Gaza Invasion (2014), and a film Voices Across the Divide (2013). She recently retired from clinical practice on the faculty of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School.
