GED & ESOL CLASSES

General education diploma (gED) CLASSES

We partner with local Adult Basic and Literacy Education (ABLE) organizations to host FREE adult General Education Diploma (GED) classes in our branches. Participants must attend a mandatory orientation session before beginning GED classes.

Orientation Schedule

Adults who wish to attend free GED classes at the Library must first attend an orientation session.

Brooklyn Branch
Winter Orientation:  Friday, January 20, 9:30 AM-1:30PM, and Friday, February 17, 9:30 AM-1:30PM
(Classes will be held Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 9:30AM-noon

Garfield Heights Branch
Winter Orientation:  Tuesday, January 17, 5:00-7:00 PM, and Tuesday, February 7, 5:00-7:00 PM
(Classes will be held Monday and Thursday mornings, 9:30AM-12noon

Maple Heights Branch
Winter Orientation:  Monday, February 6, 9:30 AM-noon
(Classes will be held Monday and Tuesday mornings, 9:30AM-12PM; Monday – Thursday evenings, 6-8:30PM)

Parma Branch
Winter Orientation:  Tuesday, January 31, 5:00-7:30 PM   and    February 8, 9:30 AM-noon
(Classes will be held Mondays /Wednesdays,  9:30AM-12 noon)

Warrensville Heights Branch
Winter Orientation: Wednesday, February 15, 9:30 AM-noon   and   Tuesday, January 24, 5:00-7:30 PM
(Classes will be held Monday/Wednesday/Thursday mornings, 9:30AM-12noon

Polaris Career Center GED Classes

North Olmsted Branch Library - Class Days / Times: Monday & Wednesday, 6:458: 45 PM at the Library
You must attend one of these orientation sessions (at Polaris Career Center in Middleburg Hts.) before beginning GED classes.

English for speakers of other languages (esol) classes

If you need to learn English, or just sharpen your language skills, you’ve come to the right place. We partner with local Adult Basic and Literacy Education (ABLE) organizations to host FREE beginning, intermediate and advanced-level ESOL classes. Adults who wish to attend our free ESOL classes must complete an orientation session.
