The Fairview Park Branch of Cuyahoga County Public Library is a 44,000 square foot facility which specializes in genealogy. Special features at our branch are quiet study rooms, several art pieces, a story/craft room, and a large aquarium maintained by the Friends of the Library.

John Place Spencer was an early settler of Fairview Park ,and together with his brother Benjamin, owned a good portion of land south of Lorain between W. 210th-W.224th or so–hence the original name of W. 220th, Spencer Rd! Electa was from Dover Twp., which is now the Westlake area.

The Friends of the Fairview Park Branch was formed in 1974 under the leadership of Sally Knurek, the group’s president, to help the library secure funding so that up-to-date materials, resources, and services would be available to everyone.
