Teens and adults. Storyteller Bette Lou Higgins from Eden Valley Enterprises brings to life the days of the Ohio Underground Railroad with dramatic tales of fellow Ohioans who risked their lives from station to station to find freedom.

Join us for a sensory story time, designed for children with different needs, including those with Autism, Down syndrome, sensory-processing disorder, speech/language delays, cognitive impairments, AD/HD, and other special needs or challenges. Program incorporates a schedule board, double visuals and sensory opportunities for participants as well as 1/2 hour socialization time following the program.
Children and teens, do you know the words to our National Anthem--The Star-Spangled Banner? Stop by the Children's Desk between 11AM and 1PM. Sing or recite the first verse by memory and receive a small prize. No registration necessary!
Ages 11-13. Explore the world of Lego Mindstorms, and find out how to teach our robots new tricks. Program a robot to master new challenges, test it out, then watch it go.
Children in grades 2 & 3 with reading difficulties or identified learning disabilities and their parents are invited to join a Learning Disabilities Association teacher and library staff present theme-related programs. Pizza dinner is served.
Grades 3-8. Ready to lend a helping hand? Join us and volunteer to help out your library and your community on the first Wednesday of every month.
Families. The Jungle Safari Puppet Show with Katie Bee and Roger Dodger has it all; Awesome Puppets, a touch of Magic, Storytelling and antics that get plenty of laughter. Children help decorate a cool Balloon Tree with Jungle Balloon Animals and there’s lots of audience participation in this fun program!
Grades 6-12. Help make decisions about all things teen at the library.

Grades 1-3. Join us for our monthly book club! Pick up this month's book, The talking eggs : a folktale from the American South by Robert D. San Souci, in the children's department, read it by the 15th, and join us for the fun. We'll discuss the book and create a craft. Kids are invited to bring a parent or favorite adult.
Wii Wednesdays has moved! TEENs and TWEENs get your game on earlier in the week! Students in grades 4-12 can join us each Monday afternoon for a different Wii or PS2 game. Sign up
Grades 6-12. Teens drop-in for weekly fun and activities.
Grades 4-7. Join us for video games, computer fun, art activities and books as you've never seen them before. This isn't you little sister's storytime!
The Maple Heights Branch has a collection of over 150,000 items. The children's area has an excellent folk/fairy tale collection and a large castle in which a vast selection of picture books are shelved.
