Affordable Care Act

As part of the Affordable Health Care Act, U.S. citizens and legal residents will be required to have qualifying health coverage by January 1, 2015. In preparation for this, a health care exchange (a place where consumers can purchase subsidized health insurance coverage) is now available at www.healthcare.gov (CuidadoDeSalud.gov for Spanish-speaking residents).

Open Enrollment closes February 15, 2015.

The Affordable Care Act includes a number of options in healthcare coverage. There are a wide variety of resources available online that provide information about these options and how to choose what is best for you. The staff at Cuyahoga County Public Library can direct you to those resources, but we are not trained or licensed to provide advice or to assist you in selecting a specific health plan.

Our Library partnered with a regional Enrollment Assistance Program to raise awareness, facilitate access and assist enrollment of qualified individuals. Representatives were at select branches through February 12, 2015.
