Moon Poems

Write a poem about the moon, based on a moon viewing.

Traditionally the Japanese have celebrated “Viewings”of the moon (such as Tsukimi, the autumn full moon viewing) and other natural events with parties, food, tea and haiku writing. The tradition continues in some U.S. sites, often arboretums and parks.  Shaker Lakes, for example, has held a meteor shower viewing with silent meditation.  Tonight, have your own viewing of the new moon.  See what it, or its absence, inspires.
