eBooks

World Book Advanced has many classics and other titles available free online.  Because this is a subscription database, you must have a library account to access this collection.

Start with The Find Engine (on the left side of our website), go to World Book Advanced (the E-Books Center is in the middle), find the book you need, and start reading!

More eBooks

If you have one of our Library Cards, even more eBooks are available for borrowing from our Digital Collection, but these titles do not all appear in our catalog.

Go to our Downloadables Digital Collection and do your search.  Most of these eBooks can be downloaded to your PC; you can read them there!

Sony Readers, the Barnes & Noble Nook, and Kobo eReader are currently the only readers that are compatible with our eBook collection (they support DRM-protected content, the type of content that is available FREE through libraries).  Please check the website of our Digital Partner OverDrive for a list of supported portable eBook devices

Cliffs Notes

Did you know that (for a quick review), you can also borrow CliffsNotes eBooks for many of the books that are on your Required Reading lists?

eAudioBooks

If you have one of our Library Cards, you can also borrow from our Digital Collection of AudioBooks.   Choose from thousands of titles, from today's best sellers to the classics.

Remember to search the separate Digital catalog (search box is on the left of that site).

Check the Quick Start Guide if you haven't yet used our Downloadable Digital Collection.  Most of these eAudioBooks can be downloaded to your PC; you can listen to them from there!
See  supported portable audio devices (on the website of our Digital Partner– Overdrive).

In our Downloadables, we offer unlimited copies of many classic titles, so they are
Always Available for you to listen to.

Other Print Options

Borrowing from Other Libraries

If our collection has no books available for you to borrow, you may be able to order them through our library partner systems, SearchOhio or OhioLINK (details on our site's Borrowing from Other Libraries page).  This process takes about a week.

Basically, here's what you do:

Do a search from our HomePage for the title. When you see the "no results found" reply, click on the SearchOhio or Search OhioLINK button.

You can then find the book in that shared catalog and request that it be sent to whichever of our branches you choose.  This process takes about a week.

CliffsNotes

Available at all of our branches, these handy reference tools are not generally listed separately in our catalog.  Call a local branch to see if the title you're looking for is there; ask for teen reference.

Book Discussion Sets

Book Discussion Sets, intended for group discussion settings, can be available to individuals, or groups of individuals.  Although listed in our catalog (as Bookable Discussion), these must be ordered through a librarian.  These centrally located sets are then delivered to the branch of your choice.  These are not renewable, and fines for overdue sets are higher.

Literary Guides

Often listed with the search results for your book title, these guides give insight to the book, the plot, the characters, and more.  Lit guides (such as Bloom, Norton, New Riverside, Greenhaven) supplement the actual books, but generally do not include the complete text of the novel.
