Cuyahoga County Public Library earns GFOA's Certificate of Achievement for 11th year in a row
Parma, OH – March 10, 2020 – Cuyahoga County Public Library (CCPL) has been awarded the Government Finance Officers Association's Certificate of Achievement in Financial Reporting for the eleventh consecutive year (2009-2019) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) issued for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2018. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of government accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
"This award from the Government Finance Officers Association affirms our continued commitment to financial transparency and accurate financial reporting," said CCPL Executive Director Tracy Strobel. "Taxpayers trust us to be sound, responsible stewards of public funds. We strive to return that trust with the highest level of transparency and stewardship of tax dollars. To be recognized for our efforts year after year is very gratifying, and I want to thank our finance team for all of their hard work to earn this award for the eleventh year in a row."
CCPL's 2018 CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the standards of the GFOA program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
The GFOA advances excellence in government finance by providing best practices, professional development, resources and practical research for more than 20,500 members and they communities they serve.
