Our Homework Centers will resume service the week of February 7, 2022.

Students don't just DO their homework in our branches. They receive FREE homework assistance from trained staff through our after-school Homework Centers program for students in grades K – 8.

Since 2002, our free Homework Centers program has helped thousands of students in grades K – 8 improve their grades and subject comprehension. Homework Centers are available at 10 branches. Students who participate in the program receive homework assistance from trained tutors in the following subjects:

  • Language arts
  • Math
  • Reading
  • Science
  • Social studies
Monday – Thursday
  • Each Homework Center location offers two after-school sessions Monday through Thursday after school, during the school year.
  • Each session is 2 hours and 30 minutes. Registration is required

Students who participate in the Homework Centers program must adhere to our Rules of Conduct and Homework Center guidelines:
  • Students will follow a suggested schedule that includes time working in three major areas:
    • Homework or reading/math assistance.
    • 20 minutes of reading practice.
    • 20 minutes of education games or activities.
  • Homework Center participation is limited to one session per day.
  • We can accommodate up to 25 students per session.
  • Registration is required.  


To enroll your child in our Homework Centers program, please fill out the registration form and bring it to one of our Homework Center locations.

Homework Centers tutors are trained through the America Reads programs at local colleges and universities. America Reads is a federal program that trains and funds university students to tutor youth.
