AN EMPTY SILENCE...

by Russell Vidrick

An empty silence has
entered my house and
the moon walks across
my days, as I wait for you
to unfold your umbrella of
hyacinth hair and cherry
blossom dreams to fall
like plums on the softened
ground of my lonely hours.

“An empty silence…” by Russell Vidrick, from Drag the Sun Across the Sky. Splendora Press, 2017. Used by permission of the author.

Russell Vidrick is a poet who lives and works in Cleveland. His book, Drag the Sun, was edited by Holly Jensen. He hosts the poetry reading series at Guide to Kulchur the second Saturday of the month and co-hosts the open mic at Visible Voice the third Thursday of the month with Nicole Hennessy.
