You Are My Solar System

READ A POEM

by Azriel Johnson

You Are My Solar System

My soul insistence
Your eyes are moons
Your limbs are trajectories
of planetary fingers and toes
Your head is the universal connection
with hair tendrils stretching
light years
Your openings are black holes
transforming chemicals
with organic fusion, intense
pressure and bending the space
time continuum to process
drawing nutrients and spiritual energy
Your heart pushes the energy through
I watch you orbit, you rotate
on an axis of love and you turn
my life into something revolutionary

WRITE A POEM

Write a clerihew, a rhymed four-line poem about a person. The rhyme scheme is AABB, and often the rhymes are ridiculous. The first line is the person’s name. Clerihews are often humorous, but the best are also true.
