Copying/Faxing/Scanning are all done on the same, coin-operated machines located in our branches.

Copying at the Library

All of our branches have at least one coin-operated copy machine for public use.  
       • Black+White copies cost 10¢/page.           • Color copies cost 25¢/page. 
Machines default to copying, black+white mode.   For color copies, choose “Output Color” and “Auto Detect”

Faxing at the Library

FREE self-service faxing is available at all of our branches; use the copy machines, changing the function to “Open Text Fax”. Instructions are posted near the machines in our branches.  Faxing to international telephone numbers is not available at this time.   PLEASE NOTE: You cannot receive faxes; The Library does not accept fax replies.

Scanning at the Library

You can use Library copy machines to scan documents and email them or save them to a USB thumb drive.  There is no charge for this service.
The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, U.S. Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.  The person using Library copying equipment is liable for any copyright infringement.


All library locations have Internet PCs for public use.  All Ohio residents must have a Cuyahoga County Public Library account or Greater Access Card (activated for use in our system) and PIN to log in to our public use computers. For information about printing from the PCs, see our Policies page (J.3-j.4).

Bring your own wireless enabled equipment into the library and access the Internet, our catalog, your email, or our Research Databases. We do not provide virus protection for Wi-Fi connections to our network.  You are strongly encouraged to use up to date virus protection and a personal firewall.  We offer free wireless connections at all of our locations.


Select branches (listed below) have typewriters available for public use.  Contact branch staff to find out about the typewriter-use policies —  how to reserve & for how long, what supplies you need.   Branch names link to branch pages with telephone numbers.

Microform Readers

Microform records and the microform readers needed to scan them our available at these branches; the Fairview Park readers include the option to scan microfilms onto flash drives:

Basic supplies (pens, envelopes, flash drives, headphones, etc.) are on sale at the circulation/checkout desks at all of our branches.  Also available for purchase are U.S.P.S. postage stamps and RTA Bus Passes. See complete list and price guide.

Meeting Rooms

Our Library branches provide meeting space where groups can gather for cultural, civic, intellectual and informal educational engagement.  There is no fee for using these meeting spaces.   Library Meeting Rooms
Our Parma-Snow Branch features a state-of-the-art auditorium for theatrical groups, recitals, concerts, meetings, speaker presentations, wedding receptions, and other group events.  Additional fees apply to reserve the auditorium after regular library hours of operation.  Library Auditorium

Quiet Study Rooms

All of our new or renovated Library Branches have dedicated study rooms to be used on a first come, first served basis. Some of our older branches have communal quiet study areas, including Bay Village, Berea, Brecksville, Brooklyn, Independence, and Solon. If you have any questions about availability, please call your local branch.

Passport Centers

Our Library branches offer Passport services – including passport photos –every day of the week, from opening until one hour before closing.  Library Passport Centers

Homework Centers

Students in grades K-8 are invited to visit one of our 10 Homework Centers for free after-school help.  Library Homework Centers

Cuyahoga Works: Cuyahoga County Public Library Job+Career Services is a free services for any searching for a new job or career. 

Used Book Sales

Most of our Library branches offer ongoing Used Book Sales daily during branch operating hours.  Also, Friends of the Library Used Book Sales are regular events at most branches.

Additional Services

Administered through our Library Administration offices include Library2You, free delivery service to HomeBound customers, and available to all for a fee.
